Agri Informatics is a consultancy firm in natural agricultural resources. The firm was founded in 2001. We supply land use, land capability and farm optimisation solutions, through surveys, desktop studies, GIS analysis and consultancy services. We have our base in Cape Town (Durbanville) but operate throughout South and Southern Africa.
The firm functions as a core team under leadership of the founder, Francois Knight and an expanded team of experienced accociates with whom we have strong and long standing working agreements. This way we are highly efficient and flexible to take on any project irrespective of size.

THE TEAM
Francois Knight
M.Sc.Agric. (Soil Science)
Francois is the founder and principal consultant of Agri Informatics for the past 10 years. He holds a Masters degree in Soil Physics and has 23 years experience in natural resources and GIS.
B.Tech.Cartography
Ryk has been with Agri Informatics since the beginning, but prior to that he was leading the GIS laboratory at Elsenburg. He specialises in cadastral mapping and the integration of GPS and GIS technologies.
Spine van Niekerk
M.Sc.Agric. (Soil Science)
Spine, formerly a colleague of Francois and Ryk at the Department of Agriculture (Elsenburg) is a seasoned pedologist (specialist in soil classification, mapping and evaluation). He conducted numerous soil surveys throughout Africa.
Dawie le Roux
B.Sc.Agric. (Viticulture)
Dawie is a qualified viticulturist, with many years of service in the wine and table grape industries of South Africa. Dawie also is the lead viticulturist at Cape Vines an affiliate of Agri Informatics.
Kevin Snyman
M.Sc.Agric. M.BA.
Kevin is our tree crop specialist. He has first hand experience in growing nuts, olives, pomegranates, figs and wine grapes, through his farming venture: Dabar Wines at Napier.
Bennie Diedericks
B.Sc.Agric. (Soil Science)
Bennie, an associate of Agri Informatics, is head of Resalt. His experience and focus is soil fertility and plant nutrition with emphasys on a holistic approach towards sustainability that includes unlocking alternative energy sources.
Charus du Plessis
M.Sc.Agric. (Agronomy)
Charus, also an associate, specialises in advanced farming systems where the focus is on fertilisation for high sustainable yields of high quality, embracing a biological approach and advanced technologies.
